Little Moments… Little Moments…

Little Moments…

Little moments of serendipity

I was recently looking through some of the images from weddings I had photographed over the last few years when one photo in particular caught my eye. It was a shot I had taken at Rachel and Rick’s wedding at St Mark’s Church in Natland near Kendal. I had setup a photo for Rachel, her Mum and her bridesmaids so that I could photograph them framed by an arch in the hedge at the church gate. I got a few shots as planned and then…two cyclists rode across the path in front of the bride, to everyone’s amusement.

It got me thinking about some of the other moments I had captured in camera at weddings over the years. All those serendipitous moments of fun, laughter and love. Not life changing or momentous events but fleeting looks of joy, shyness, happiness, friendship, pride and love that can often go unobserved. Little moments of life, captured forever.

So I gathered some of my favourites together from weddings I have had the pleasure of photographing. You can see some of them below. They are all unlabelled - no captions, just a collection from my wedding photography showing some of those ‘blink and you miss them’ moments.

I love capturing spontaneous, in-the-moment photos because they reveal genuine emotions and connections between the couple, their families, and friends. They help to tell the story of the day in a way that posed shots simply can’t.

I had more to choose from so I will perhaps add some others in a future post. Do you have a favourite from this selection or perhaps you are in one of them? Get in touch and let me know!
